Our Story
Born in a basement in Shibuya, Izakaya Kuro brings the soul of late-night Tokyo to Fitzroy. We source fish directly from Australian waters, import binchotan from Wakayama, and pair Japanese tradition with Melbourne's irreverent spirit.
Our chef, Tanaka-san, spent 12 years at a yakitori counter in Yurakucho before bringing his craft to Smith Street. Every skewer is treated with the same care and precision.
